Girls’ Brigade is a Christian organisation for girls aged 4-16 years
Our evening consists of Games, Skipping, Craft, Bible Stories, Singing, Badgework and lots of FUN!
It’s a great opportunity to make new friends, have fun, find out about God, gain awards and learn new skills, and at only £1.00 a week.
The Girls’ Brigade takes part in the BT Giant Sleepover every year in aid of Save the Children. The aim is to break 2 Guinness World Records, one for the most people simultaneously sleeping over around the globe and the other for the Minty Mouth Challenge (the most people simultaneously brushing their teeth!). We have so much fun together at this event which includes lots of party games, dancing, craft activities, DVDs and a Midnight Feast! We sleep-over in sleeping bags in the Church Lounge. (We’ve not been brave enough to sleep outside yet!)
We usually have a couple of trips out during the year. Adventure Island in Southend is one of our favourite places to go, having great fun on all the rides. Clacton is another place we like to visit. We can play on the beach and even go in the sea. The rides on the Pier are great fun (especially the bumper cars!). We also like to go to the theatre to see a pantomime or play.
We have recently started taking the older girls to camp for a week in the Summer. So far we have been to Skreens Park, Chelmsford and Thriftwood, Brentwood.
